It's time to trade her in ...
“It’s just going to start breaking down piece by piece …” Not exactly what you want to hear from your car mechanic. Even worse is to find out that the part broken on your car can’t even be replaced because they don’t make it anymore. Our car has been in the shop about four times already this year and twice this week! Our car for us has been a huge blessing and we are so grateful for it. It has taken us from Velky Krtis to Lucenec. It’s been to the Czech, Serbia, Hungary, Croatia, and all over Slovakia. It served as a taxi for the youth group to visit orphans and helped to move single mothers. We have countless memories with her but, piece by piece she is breaking down.
We
bought it used and have put over 200,000 kilometers and ten years of memories on her. I hate
to say it but it’s time for her to retire and be replaced. We have been
searching for a newer car and we are not sure how we are going to afford one.
It’s the
nature of the life of faith God has called us into. The reality is all of life
is grace and jobs are gifts, not guarantees. You just feel it more when you
give your life to serving people trusting that God will supply what is needed. It’s
a constant reminder that he cares even for the flowers in the field and the
birds in the air, they need not worry so neither should we. It’s easy to say
but hard to walk in.
If you think
about it, please pray for us that God will guide the process of finding a new
car for our family and ministry. Pray also for the funds and gifts to help us
pay for it.
Thank you all for joining us on this journey and for your
prayers and support.
