2024 is here and with it comes new resolutions, ideas, hopes, and plans. I
remember this time last year Lucy and I had so many questions and looking back
we can see how Jesus led us and cared for us. From the encouragement of
attending ELF (The European Leadership Federation which brought us a lot of new
friends), providing us with new supporting partners, and new fruit with one of
our friends committing their life to Jesus. We are excited and hopeful for 2024
and how Jesus will surprise us this year.
Christmas was great and we spent the holidays with family and friends. We also
celebrated Matus’ 13th birthday. It is official we have a teenager! We are proud
of the young man he is becoming and hopeful even with the difficulties we
couldn’t love him more. Lily has taken to dancing and gymnastics and loves to
sing whole sections from the movie Moana. Throw a puppy retriever into the mix
and it’s never dull around our home.
Lucy is now working full-time in ministry and has been spending her time meeting with people and
building relationships. I have been meeting with two young men from the church
studying Ecclesiastes together, going through the gospel of Mark with our
discussion group, and will be preaching this Sunday on the Beatitudes. We have
been filling out forms for GEM (Greater Europe Missions, speaking with
representatives, and navigating through the application process. We are getting
to the end of it and plan on finishing the process by Feb 16th. After that, we
will see if they would like us to join.
We will continue with our bible studies, discussion groups, and regular gatherings with our friends but
hope to start worship service. We feel that it is the right time to try and
gather friends and others for a focused time on worship, prayer, the word, and
fellowship. We are developing a type of service that would be understandable and
comprehensible for those who do not go to church. We are praying and searching
for a place to meet and planning on having a pilot run in March.
Please pray for
• Spiritual and physical protection for our family
• For fruit to come from the different discussion groups and bible studies
• For the application process with GEM to finish well
• For the baptism preperation
• For Jesus to show us the place to host our Sunday worship service
• That in all our words, deeds, and thoughts Jesus would be seen
• For more in our community to place their trust in Jesus
